Diver

Age 28. Former marine biologist who quit when her employer wanted to experiment on the animals she studied. She spent her savings on a rundown beach house above a dying reef — not to research the ocean, but to repair it.

  • On land: oversized hoodie with a faded institute logo, cargo shorts, aviators on her head.
  • In the water: a self-repaired dark-teal wetsuit with coral-orange stitches, scratched mask, worn yellow flippers.
  • Always: the shark-tooth pendant and the waterproof notebook.

Injuries are tragic but never gory — no blood, only oil, plastic, nets and bruise-like patches. The design rule: the ocean's wounds are human-made, and so is the cure.

Characters

Mira

The Medic — you

28, former marine biologist. Left the industry when her employer wanted to experiment on animals. Calm, determined, quietly witty. Wears a shark-tooth pendant and keeps a weathered waterproof notebook on her belt.

Old Salt

The ghost in the dreams

The previous owner of the beach house. Appears in Mira's dreams when she sleeps, dropping cryptic hints about the ABYSSAL and what was hidden down there long before she arrived.

Dr. Voss

The voice on the radio

An old colleague who calls in during base phases. Warns Mira about the planned military exercise over the Twilight Zone — and forces her hardest choice.

The Leviathan

The final patient

An ancient, whale-like guardian fused with a mysterious crystal substance. Not a boss to defeat — a patient to heal, with everything the sanctuary has.

Story Arcs

The story is told with no cutscenes — through sunken logs, dreams, radio calls and the behavior of the creatures themselves. Click an arc to reveal it. Spoilers ahead.

Arc 1 — The HealerDays 1–10 · click to reveal

Mira learns the house and the Shallows. She rescues her first creatures. Old Salt, the ghost of the previous owner, appears in her dreams. The ABYSSAL seems like a normal, devastated reef.

Arc 2 — The WoundDays 11–30 · click to reveal

Mira discovers the Twilight Zone: military remnants and sonic injuries. Dr. Voss warns of a planned military exercise. Dive despite the danger, or wait and risk the creatures dying?

Arc 3 — The AbyssDays 31–60 · click to reveal

In the Midnight Zone, Mira finds logs from an old research station. The ABYSSAL was not always like this. Something was hidden here — an ancient being that protected the zone, now wounded itself.

Arc 4 — The GuardianDays 61–90 · click to reveal

Mira reaches the ABYSSAL Zone and finds the Leviathan — not a monster, but an ancient whale-like guardian fused with a mysterious crystal. Healing it demands everything she has learned.

Arc 5 — EpilogueEndgame · click to reveal

The Leviathan is healed and the ABYSSAL begins to recover. Mira decides: stay and watch over the zone, or hand the sanctuary to the community and move on. Two endings — the player chooses.
